Lambeosaurus Model

Hey there! :)

Here's a Lambeosaurus I just finished. I'm not the greatest at Lighting and Rendering. I'm pretty much just a modeler and texture painter, but hopefully it passes as nice.

I had fun with the color pattern as always. Its a mix of bird and mammal coloration. I love patterns that are unique...no grey and black stripes:)

Anyway, I need to render out the Olorotitan and need to get this Lambeo up on Shapeways. Both models should be released this week from SW.

Have a great week!

Awesome! Looks great! I love the flush of colors on its head. I also think the goat-like eyes is a really interesting idea. I don't think I've seen that yet! Nice job!!

Lookin' forward to the Olorotitan!

Looking pretty spectacular (as always!).

I was just wondering is that scaling on his toes in both the model and the texture or just texturing? I've gone about it in both manners, but wondered which you think is the best...

Simply gorgeous Angie.

The coloration is convincing and natural, the way the patterning flows is especially good.

Thank you so much guys!

Yep, goat eyes:) I noticed a lot of prey animals and herbivores had those type of horizontal pupils so went with it as something different. And I did use a goat as reference, haha! It has an interesting look to it I think.

The scales on the toes are sculpted onto the model via alphas in Zbrush. You could hand sculpt them if you wanted to, but alphas are faster. In ZB you can sculpt detail onto the model itself and save it out as a displacement map if you need it to go to another program. I would definately favor the scales being sculpting into the model instead of painted on as it adds to the realism.

Thanks to Matt;) Coloring is my favorite part I love trying to paint patterns on dinosaurs. I'm glad everyone thinks the pattern flows nice and works.

You guys are the best, thank you as always for your encouragement:)

Best,
Angie

wow impressive, cant wait to see what you did for rotd !!

Again the pattern, its just amazing.

also i like that you give your hadrosaurs goat eyes, i prefer to give ornithopods in general such eyes, i just think they fit them and like you said, many herbivores have horizontal pupils.

When we see a Dinosaur revolution-style Spinosaurus? I'm curious to how this animal would be a beautiful color.

We actually had a Spino in the beginning, but it went away. never even got a color scheme or a model. I would love to paint one with a brightly patterned sail for sure:) maybe I'll try one.
