More half finished things...

These are the things I have going at the moment, along with the Steggie painting I'm almost done with. The Reign dinos have kept me busy the last couple weeks, so I put my stuff aside while I work on them. I thought I would just post the WIPs anyway, so I don't neglect the blog for to long.

I'm almost there with the color map for the Olorotitan. Alas, I missed the Hadrosaur Gallery for Art Evolved as I got so distracted, but maybe I can still put him in it when he is done:)

So, the two new paintings I haven't decided on the creatures yet, I'm just playing with shapes. The next PT I think needs Tenontos, so maybe the forest painting will get one of those. Now it just has some random Iguanodon type thing in there to play with shape and angle of the dinosaur. The other one I just sketched in something to see what the pose would look like. It turned into something feathery. Not sure what dino it should be yet.

Anyway, that's what I've been up too;)

Angie,

Loving the paintings! Your environments have such a great quality to them. I love how dense and mysterious these forests feel. I so often see imagery of dinosaurs in open savanna's, grasslands, and beaches, and it's refreshing to see some densely-packed forested paleo-environments. So excited to see the finished paintings! :)

Thank you Evan:)

I'm glad you like the enviros, Its hard not to try and detail them to death so I'm glad they are working alright. I too like forest enviros(I love Henderson's dino paintings), they are my favorite to paint.

Hopefully I will get to work on them more this week and will repost them when I finish.

Thanks again for stopping by and commenting...

Angie! Your paintings always look amazing!

As for ART Evolved, don't worry about being late to the Hadrosaur Gallery - of course you can always send them in anytime! We'd love to show your work!

Thank you Peter!!!

:) I'm glad I can still add to the gallery, I was really sad when I missed it. Obviously, it is my favorite group so I really want to have something in there. I will send my Oloro in when I get him done and rendered:)

Thanks again for your comments, I'm glad you like the paintings so far!

I really wonder how you manage to make those complicated patterns, do you use a graphic tablet, or use special brushes ??

Angie Rodrigues said...

Hi!

I use a graphics tablet to paint the patterns with:) No real special brushes. For the Zbrush models I just use the standard brush and paint away, no alphas or spray brushes.

Thank you for stopping by I'm glad you like the dinosaurs:)

thanks for answering. so you used a normal round brush ??

Hi! Yes, for the CG digital models I paint with the standard brush with the polypaint all by hand.

For the digital "paintings" I'll use more than one brush and overlay different things to give it texture and add atmosphere.

Thanks for commenting! If you have more questions I'll try and help you out as I can:)

Best,
Angie
